Carriageway Repairs – Altrincham Road, Gatley – O/S Number 79

Stockport Council is carrying out a programme of planned repairs across the borough. As part of the programme, we will be carrying out repairs to a section of Altrincham Road, Gatley – outside Number 79 .

The scheduled start date is the 10th October 2024 and is expected to take up to two days to complete. Working times will be between 9:00am and 3:00pm weather permitting and subject to the necessary road space approvals.

Unfortunately, to carry out this work it will be necessary to manage traffic flows on this route by utilising temporary traffic controls (Stop/Go Boards) during the working hours. This is to minimise disruption and to allow safe working operations to take place.

Access to properties in the working area will be maintained where possible however it may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses.

Gatley Road bridge over the Micker Brook at Milton Crescent / Riversdale Road – Overnight Works, 9/10 October

.
The council has some outstanding works to replace the joints at Gatley Road bridge over the
Micker Brook at Milton Crescent / Riversdale Road. It is important that they carry out these
works as soon as possible as we enter the winter months, as there is an increased risk of
damage to the structure during colder weather.

Works to replace the joints at the bridge will be carried out on the nights of
Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th October 2024.
The works will be undertaken between 6pm and 5am. Noisier activities will be carried out
as early during each shift as possible, by around midnight both nights.
Traffic management will be required to enable the works to be carried out safely and
efficiently. This includes the use of temporary traffic lights and local pedestrian
diversions. Access to all properties will be maintained at all times.
The working methodology has been agreed to manage disruption as much as possible.
The works have been timed to reduce the number of shifts required.
The contractors working on behalf of Stockport Council will seek to minimise noise and
disruption to local residents and businesses at all times, however, please accept the Council’s
apologies in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused.
