Litter pick

Councillor Ian Hunter joined the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts of 2nd Cheadle Scout Group the children of Cheadle Primary School, Oak Tree Primary School and other members of the community to spend an hour picking litter on Sunday 14th as part of a litter pick organised by the Civic Society.
An amazing 34 bags of litter were lifted off the streets of Cheadle in just an hour – well done to everyone involved.
Commenting on the litter pick Councillor Hunter said: ‘Thank you to everyone involved and the Civic Society for organising the litter pick, this is a terrific outcome. I have mixed feelings: It’s been a fantastic community effort but why are people dropping so much litter – Cheadle deserves better!’

Well done everyone. I regularly litter pick from my house on Schools Hill, both on Schools Hill and along Wilmslow Road to Broadway and to Bruntwood Lane. Quite often people say ‘well done’ but when I ask them to join me, it is amazing how busy they are and can’t spare the time!
Glad to hear further litter picks are coming up, but announcing them on Facebook is of no use to me as I don’t know how to /cannot use it.
This was our best turnout.What a great job.Thank you all for caring about Cheadle.
